Doctor Oz Shows Alzheimer Disease Form of Brain Diabetes

Recently Doctor Oz, of the Doctor Oz Show, has helped uncover new research in to Alzheimer’s Research which shows that in many respects, Alzheimer’s is a brain form of diabetes. Even in the earliest stages of disease, the brain’s ability to metabolize sugar is reduced. Normally, insulin plays a big role in helping the brain take up sugar from the blood. But, in Alzheimer’s, insulin is not very effective in the brain. Consequently, the brain cells practically starve to death.

Visit the Doctor Oz Web Site for all the details and video of the Show.

For our purposes I want to look more closely at the Brain Foods That Fight Alzheimer’s.

Dr agents Oz talks of antioxidants, monounsaturated fats, and omega-3s that all do great things for your body and nourish your brain. Proper Brain Nutrition is essential to longevity. While Dr Oz’s list of foods include Lentils, Chia Seeds, Brazil Nuts, and Coffee, we want to look closer at what they contain and which Watkins Products may help based on the information which Doctor Oz provides.

Now, there are definitely some of Watkins Supplements that provide these benefits.

One such supplement is Watkins Harvest provides crucial vitamins and minerals, fiber, and enzymes necessary for proper functioning of the body. A daily serving contains the all-natural carotenes and vitamin C  found in four glasses of juice! Watkins Harvest also contains all-natural antioxidants in the form of mixed natural carotenes and vitamin C without the addition of synthetic beta carotene!

One, often overlooked Watkins Product is Watkins Grape Seed Oil. Watkins Grape Seed Oil is one Food Product that is designed to deliver!

Although this oil is relatively new to our market, it has been produced and enjoyed in Europe for many years—sold not only as a cooking oil, but also in French pharmacies as a remedy for high cholesterol. In fact, grapeseed oil is one of the only foods shown to not only lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, but also increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol—a distinct advantage over other oils.

At 8%, it has only half the saturated fat of olive oil.

Contains vitamin E, and a group of bioflavonoids known as proanthocyanadins, some of the most powerful known natural antioxidants.

Highest in polyunsaturated fat: (72%), all as linoleic acid (Omega-6), which has the greatest effect in raising HDL (good) cholesterol and lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides (fat carried in the blood).

These are just a couple of Watkins Products that may benefit our overall health and perhaps delay or prevent the onset of Alzheimer Disease as per the information discussed on the Doctor Oz Website.
